In Optical Vacuum Dariusz Kowalski presents surveillance sequences from various public and semi-public locations on Internet sites that are not supposed to be accessible. The shown images of workplaces, conference rooms, winter landscapes, laundromats and gambling tables are accomanied by intimate, diary-like commentary by artist Stephen Mathewson. Optical Vacuum is a film about voyeurism, surveillance and voluntary self-exposure – three independent aspects of the Internet.
