Shaka McGlotten
Shaka McGlotten
Shaka McGlotten is an artist and anthropologist preoccupied with sites of cultural emergence (and decay), especially as they articulate with media, technology, sex, race, and the body. He has written and spoken about gaming, virtual worlds, porn, shit, hook up apps, and zombies (among other things). You can find some of these preoccupations reflected in his book Virtual Intimacies: Media, Affect, and Queer Sociality (SUNY Press, 2013). He teaches courses on ethnography, digital culture, and queer media at Purchase College-SUNY.
